Social Concerns

Our vision is to be faithful disciples by serving the poor and needy in our community and each other before self.

We seek to provide short-term financial support and care in the areas of social welfare through medical subsidies, education, job placements, counselling, referrals to government assistance schemes, visiting needy families and mentoring youths in our community.

Projects Involved

  • Distributing of Christmas hampers and reaching out to families of inmates under the Angel Tree Project organized by the Prisons Fellowship of Singapore
  • Reaching out to migrant workers in construction sites in the vicinity
  • Distributing gifts to the needy in collaboration with our Boys’ Brigade BB-Sharity Gift Box Project
  • Awarding bursaries to needy students in partnership with the Methodist Welfare Services
  • In collaboration with the 125th Anniversary of the Methodist Church in Singapore,   the MCS 125 Community Outreach Project, Church members donated generously and volunteered as befrienders to bless the chronically poor families in our community with a cheque each month for twelve months.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…. The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.’” (Matthew 25: 35-36, 40).

Indeed, God calls for our hearts, minds and bodies to be aligned so as to be His effective human agents to set the captives free.
